Project Grove

To help you bring your family.

For our consumer design project we were given the choice to either design a pair of highly breathable running shoes or a set of bags, and I liked the open ended nature of the bag project. We could pick the problem to solve for, and I also liked the brands we could base our bag off of. I was specifically interested in THULE I loved their mission of trying to help people bring their life outdoors. I felt an area of untapped potential was in their hiking packs, and after some research I found that families can have a hard time hiking, so I wanted to look at how we could remove barriers and help people bring their families outdoors.

So I began with making mood boards to help inspire and give the aesthetic direction, as well as the emotion that I wanted the product to evoke.

I then went into ideation. I came to this solution that could help parents carry their children's packs when they get tired using existing THULE technology, as well as an interior packing guide.

I created three models with the same aesthetics but different color ways for Men, Women, and Children.

Finally I created a tech drawing in vector to give dimensions of the flagship model.
