Furniture project

The Furniture project was a dive into understanding form, materials, and manufacturing

The Furniture Project was given to us to as an exercise in form, materials, and manufacturability. We had to make a set of furniture that went together, but other than that there were no real constraints given to us. I decided to give myself an extra constraint and make the furniture be sustainable. In order to do that I chose to make the furniture primarily out of laminated bamboo and cork.

I began with Ideating different directions that the forms could take. I ended up pulling the chair and table from this set.

I pulled the lamp from this set.

Manufacturing was a big deal here, so you can see through my ideation care spent on how things would fit and fasten together.

I modeled the furniture out in SolidWorks and rendered it in Keyshot.
